Official Rules

The “ZOOM INTO YOUR RIGHTS” contest (the “Contest”) is organized by the Civil Society Support Program for Latin America and the Caribbean of Save the Children, and Asociación Chicos.net of Argentina (“Organizers”), in collaboration with partner organizations from the Save the Children PASC Program.

The Contest is open exclusively to participants up to 18 years old (inclusive), who were born in, have heritage from, or reside in countries of Latin America and the Caribbean. Participation can be individual or in groups of up to 4 members.

  1. Agreement to the Official Rules: Participation in the Contest implies full and unconditional acceptance of all the terms and conditions (the “Official Rules”).
  2. Contest Period: The Contest begins on Thursday, April 24, 2025 and ends on July 31, 2025 at 12:00 PM UTC (“Contest Closing Date”, and this timeframe referred to as the “Contest Period”); audiovisual entries submitted after this date will not be considered. The deadline may be extended with prior public notice.
  3. How to Participate:
    1. To enter the Contest, participants must complete the registration form. This form should be filled out once the participant or group has completed their entry, as the content link must be included. There is no limit to the number of submissions per individual, group, school, or organization.
    2. Children and teenagers up to 18 years of age (inclusive) may participate individually or in groups of up to 4 members.
    3. Each individual or group must have the support of an adult (family member, teacher, or mentor), whose details must also be included in the registration form.
    4. Each individual or group must select one of the 5 categories to compete in. The options are:
      • Video: This category invites participants to express themselves through a video of up to 2 minutes. Any editing software or social media app may be used. Styles may include dramatizations, interviews, animations, musicals, performances, or streaming-like formats such as TikTok or Reels. Creativity, narrative rhythm, and message clarity will be assessed.
      • Content created with Artificial Intelligence (AI): This category encourages the use of AI tools to create content. Entries may include images, texts, audio, songs, or combinations thereof. Participants must explain the creative process, including which tool was used (e.g., ChatGPT, Midjourney, DALL·E, Suno, etc.) and what prompt or input was entered. Originality and critical use of the tool will be evaluated.
      • Meme: This category is for memes that combine images and short texts in an original, creative, or humorous way. The meme should address themes like digital wellbeing, mental health, or technology use. Any digital tool may be used. Judges will consider synthesis, impact, and visual creativity.
      • Digital Illustration: This category allows participants to express creativity through digital graphic arts. Entries can include posters, original digital illustrations, photos, comics, animations, or other visual formats.
      • Mini Podcast: This category encourages exploration of podcasting in a simple and creative way. Audio episodes must be no longer than 2 minutes. A visual element may be added during recording, similar to a streaming-style episode.
    5. Additionally, all groups, regardless of the chosen category, will also compete for the First Prize.

    6. This category encourages exploring podcasting in an accessible and creative way. It focuses on creating short audio episodes, with a maximum duration of 2 minutes. A visual element may be added during the recording, emulating a streaming-style podcast.
    7. Some guiding questions include: How do you inform yourself and verify that information is reliable? How do social media influence your daily life and self-esteem? Are you concerned about online violence or hateful comments? How do you think hate speech can be stopped? Are you affected by algorithms? What do you think are the risks and benefits of Artificial Intelligence?

    8. To participate, you must complete the registration form on the Contest website, including all required data. You must paste the link to your audiovisual production:
      • If you've created a video, one option is to upload it to YouTube with the setting “unlisted,” include the title, and paste the link in the form. Instructional video here.
      • If you are over 13 years old, you may upload your content to TikTok or Instagram and include the link in the form. If your account is private, download the video and email it to concursozoom@chicos.net.
      • You can also upload your entry to Google Drive and paste the shareable link in the form. Make sure the sharing setting is “Anyone with the link can view.”
      • If you need to send your audiovisual production via compressed file (WeTransfer), you can email it to concursozoom@chicos.net, including the title and group name. You must also complete the registration form with the title of the video.
    9. If the video is in a language other than Spanish, it must include Spanish subtitles.
    10. In the online form, participants must provide:
      • Personal details of each group member: Full name, Date of birth, Gender, City, Country, Email, and WhatsApp contact for the accompanying adult. Registration Form
      • Institutional details if applicable: Name of the school or organization, City, Country, Institutional Email, and Phone number with country and area code.
      • What message are you trying to convey through your submission? (max. 800 characters)
      • What idea or proposal do you have to improve or change what concerns you? (max. 800 characters)
      • Title of your content and the link (unless it was emailed as a compressed file).
      • Selected contest category.
    11. Limitations: Submissions that are late, invalid, incomplete, or unclear will not be accepted. The Organizers reserve the right to disqualify, at their sole discretion, any participant who manipulates, violates, or attempts to manipulate or violate the Contest procedures or these Official Rules, or who includes material that violates children's rights or societal norms in their submission.
    12. Selection of Winners: Only those participants who submit their entry and all required information via the official Contest website form before the Contest Closing Date will be eligible for selection. From all submissions received by the deadline, winners will be selected based on the following criteria:
      1. Clarity and conciseness in expressing the issue or theme, and the proposed solution or message.
      2. Creativity in content production.
      3. Relevance to the respect and exercise of the rights of children and teenagers.
      4. It will be valued that the production is mainly carried out and led by children and teenagers, though adults may support in all stages.
    13. Winning entries will be announced approximately 21 days after the Contest Closing Date on the official Contest website and the Organizers' social media platforms. A confirmation email will be sent to the address provided in the registration form, as well as communication via WhatsApp. If, despite several reasonable attempts by the Organizers, a winning individual or group cannot be reached (or fails to respond to the email sent) within seventy-two (72) business hours and at least three (3) contact attempts, the prize will be forfeited. The Organizers reserve the right to select an alternate winner from the remaining eligible entries.

    14. Jury: The jury will consist of two (2) representatives from Save the Children, one (1) representative from Chicos.net, four (4) young people engaged with children’s rights, three (3) child rights specialists with regional or international expertise, and one (1) representative from the private sector involved in digital technologies. The jury will evaluate a shortlist preselected by the Organizers.
    15. Prizes:
      1. Each individual winner or team member of the FIRST PRIZE (up to 4 participants) and their accompanying adult will receive one (1) brand-name computer.
      2. Each individual winner or team member of the BEST VIDEO PRIZE (up to 4 participants) and their accompanying adult will receive one (1) Bluetooth speaker.
      3. Each individual winner or team member of the BEST MINI PODCAST PRIZE (up to 4 participants) and their accompanying adult will receive one (1) broadcast microphone.
      4. Each individual winner or team member of the BEST MEME PRIZE (up to 4 participants) and their accompanying adult will receive one (1) pair of Bluetooth headphones.
      5. Each individual winner or team member of the BEST DIGITAL ILLUSTRATION PRIZE (up to 4 participants) and their accompanying adult will receive one (1) graphics tablet (Wacom).
      6. Each individual winner or team member of the BEST AI PRODUCTION PRIZE (up to 4 participants) and their accompanying adult will receive one (1) Bluetooth speaker.
      7. The SCHOOL THAT SUBMITS THE MOST VIDEOS PRIZE will go to the school that submits the most high-quality entries. The school will receive one (1) projector and up to three (3) accompanying teachers will each receive one (1) Bluetooth speaker.
    16. All winning groups and honorable mentions will receive a diploma sent via email in digital format. Their productions will be shared on the social media platforms and websites of the Organizers and partner organizations.

      All participants will receive a certificate acknowledging their participation in the initiative.

      No prize exchanges or transfers will be allowed, except at the sole discretion of the Organizers, who reserve the right to substitute a prize with one of equal or greater value. The Organizers are not responsible for prizes that are lost, stolen, or damaged after delivery to the winners.

      Prizes will be delivered within approximately 60 days from the announcement of the winning teams, in the country of residence of the respective participants.

    17. Rights Transfer, Publicity Authorization, and Liability Waiver: By participating in the Contest, participants consent to the publication of their entries on the websites and social media platforms of the Organizers and partner organizations during the Contest period and indefinitely. If any participant or group does not want their video shared on the Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or TikTok accounts of the Organizers, they must notify via email at concursozoom@chicos.net.
    18. Safeguarding: All interactions on the social media platforms of Chicos.net and Save the Children in connection with the Contest will be supervised by a responsible adult, in accordance with the Child Safeguarding Policy of the Organizers. All personal data collected through the registration form will be used exclusively for the purposes of this Contest. They may also be used to send institutional information from the Organizers about activities or programs that may be of interest to current or former participants.
    19. Miscellaneous: The Organizers are not responsible for any type of damage or injury to persons or property resulting directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from participation in the Contest, the receipt and/or use of the prizes, or the use of materials from the Website. The Organizers reserve the right to cancel or modify the Contest in the event of fraud, technical difficulties, or any other cause beyond their control that may compromise the integrity of the Contest, as determined solely by the Organizers.
    20. Governing Law: All disputes arising from the creation, validity, interpretation, and enforcement of these Official Rules, as well as the rights and obligations of both the participant and the Organizers, will be governed by the laws of the country where the office of Save the Children is located, in Panama City, Panama.
